Using Torque Release Technique or TRT method, is a process, not an overnight cure. Here’s what you can expect on your initial visit to Reul Chiropractic.
- First, you will be given some papers to fill out so we can learn your medical history, pain points and medicines you take. The initial consultation with Dr. Reul lasts around an hour. He’ll talk with you, explain his process, take measurements, and locate your trouble spots. X-rays may be taken to determine the health of your spine.
- On the second visit, Dr. Reul will give you a thorough report of his findings. He will go over the x-rays and do further medical, neurological and orthopedic testing to firm up his diagnosis. If he determines that you could benefit from chiropractic care, he will do a test adjustment to see if he can help your body remove subluxations. Subluxations are when the bones of your spine (vertebrae) move out of position and irritate spinal nerves. If there is a positive response to the adjustment, Dr. Reul will ask if you want him to prepare a treatment plan to address your condition. TRT treatment usually takes less than 15 minutes for each session. You’ll lie on your stomach with your feet hanging off the table.
- On your third visit, Dr. Reul will go over the treatment plan. Staff will prepare a calendar for you plotting out appointments. They will also go over the financials and help you determine your insurance benefits.
- Dr. Reul has been trained to read your troubled areas and will gently tap you in various places on your body to determine where and how to adjust you. He measures your leg length to make sure proper treatment is achieved.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How quickly can I see results?
A: It’s up to you. After an initial testing, Dr. Reul will see where you are. Using TRT, we’ve seen some of the best results with the worst conditions in a short time. The effects you feel are dependent on your body’s healing capacity. It takes repetition to clear away spinal stresses you’ve accumulated over the years and for your body to heal.
Q: Will treatment take long?
A: Treatments are usually 15 minutes per visit once the initial assessment is done. It’s a pleasant and enjoyable experience.
Q: Do you see children?
A: Yes. Children are no different than adults. They fall down and their bodies get out of alignment. TRT is very safe. Children enjoy its gentleness and look forward to treatment.
Q: Why do you check my feet during an exam?
A: Dr. Reul checks for leg length. Tension causes pelvic muscles to tighten and contract making one leg shorter than the other.
Q: Can I adjust myself?
A: No, you may be able to make your joints pop, but that’s not an adjustment. Dr. Reul has attended college and many seminars and classes to learn the best techniques for his patients.
Q: Can people with osteoporosis get care?
A: Yes. We design care and customize it for each patient.
Q: How do you realign my spine without a manual adjustment?
A: We release tension in the nervous system. By doing so the muscles around the spine will relax.
Q: Why was I sore after TRT?
A: Different muscles, nerves and soft tissues have been stimulated, just as if you began a new exercise program.
Q: What does a TRT adjustment feel like?
A: Some people feel a sense of calm. TRT is a gentle way of healing your nervous system. If patients felt pain or discomfort, they wouldn’t be returning for care. Most of our patients maintain long-term care plans.
